The beginning of her career she played small or guest roles on stage and in TV shows. As the World Changes was the first major role she had in her acting career. The series focused on people who are legal or medical professionals. She became famous for playing Jenny Griffith in Suits, which was a drama about legal issues. It was a show about Harvey Specter a lawyer and his partner Mike solving legal cases. The show won numerous awards and was highly praised by critics. Other works she is known for include the police show Blue Bloods. Reviews for the show were generally favorable. Ray is also a part of various films, including the drama movie Not Waving But Drowning where she starred in the leading role as well as the musical comedy The Rumperbutts where she had the role of a support.
